


The editors of the Claremont Review publish first-class poetry, short stories and short plays by young adult writers, aged 13-19, from anywhere in the English speaking world.
We publish work that range from traditional to modern format, but with a preference for works that reveal something of the human condition and that explore real characters. Reading samples on this website or from past issues will give you a clearer indication of what we accept.
1. Each submission package should include a cover page with the following:
• Your full name and age
• A complete mailing address
• A current email address
• Where you attend school
• A couple sentences about yourself
• How you discovered our publication
2. All work submitted must be carefully edited. We do not accept first drafts.
3. All work must be typed, single-sided, with the name of the author at the top of each page.
We allow up to 6 items in each submission.
4. Fiction must be no more than 5000 words and should be double-spaced.
5. Poems should be on separate pages and formatted as you’d like it to appear.
6. Submissions must be accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE). If you live outside of Canada, please do not put the postage of your country on the envelope. If you live in the USA please include $1.00 and if you live outside the USA please include $2.00. This allows us to put the Canadian postage on your SASE.
If you choose not to include a SASE you will not hear back from the editors unless your submission is chosen for publication
Editors will respond to your work (if you’ve included a SASE) within 10-12 weeks, not including the months of July and August.

Contributors who have their poetry, fiction and artwork published within the Claremont Review will receive $10.00 per magazine page and one complimentary copy of your edition. Additional copies are available for sale.

The editors of the Claremont Review publish digital files of original, cutting edge visual art and photography, regardless of medium – painting, ceramics, glass, sculpture, mixed media, printmaking, weaving, digital and 35mm photography, etc. – by young adult artists, aged 13-19, from anywhere in the world.
1. Each submission should include the following in the body of the email:
• Your full name and age
• A complete mailing address
• A current email address
• Where you attend school
• A couple sentences about yourself and the conception of your piece. It is always interesting to hear about the artists or writers who influenced your work and your aspirations in its creation.
• How you discovered our publication
2. All digital art and photography files must be a minimum 300 dpi JPEG and at least 5 inches horizontally and vertically. Please do not send TIFF, GIF, PFD, PSD or any other format.
3. Send the pieces as individual attachments named with the formal title of the piece of artwork or photography. If we use your piece, we will assume its title is the one you have given the attachment.
4. Due to the size of files, please do not send more than two pieces in one email. You may send up to three emails.
